The Boone Forest Valley Race coming to Lee, Jackson, and Rockcastle Counties July 26-27

The Boone Forest Rally, is a stage rally event where over 35 competitors will race from point-to-point against the clock. The race will run over hard packed gravel roads as an American Rally Association East Super Regional Championship event which will cover 76+ miles in a two day period, July 26-27, 2024.

On Friday July, 26th rally racers including icons Conner Martell of Vermont Sports Cars and Patrick Vruszha of Team Green APU and others will race in Jackson and Lee Counties on sections of Turkey Foot, Hale Ridge/Todds Road, and White Ash Road. Road closure signs have been installed at each road, with permission of the country fiscal courts, displaying the exact timeframe for road closures. Residents along the routes have also been notified. The competitors will race these sections of roads twice before making their way to Main Street Beattyville for a Rally Car Expose at 7:30pm. Rally cars from around the world will be on display.  Spectators will be able meet these professional rally drivers and learn about rally racing. On the Beattyville Town Square the award for the fastest time on White Ash Road will be announced.

On Saturday July 27th rally racers and their navigator teams will race on Poplar Gap Road, New Hope Tower Road, S. Tree Tower and Mill Creek road in Jackson and Rockcastle Counties. On Main Street in Livingston, KY from 12:00pm-2:30pm rally cars will be on display at the Rockcastle County Expose.

There are also three chances to see the cars in downtown McKee for the Expose in Jackson County. Thursday July 25th from 5:00pm-9:00pm, Friday afternoon July 26th from 12pm-2:30pm and finally Saturday night July 27th from 7:30pm to 10pm.

Friday Rally Event Road Closures will be range from 2:00pm-8:00pm. Turkey Foot 2:00pm to 4:15pm. Half Ridge/Todds Road and White Ash Roads closed from 5:30-8:00pm. Saturday Rally Race Event Road Closures will be 1:15pm – 5:00pm. Poplar Gap and New Hope Tower Roads closed from 2:00pm – 5:15pm. S Tree Town and Mill Creek Roads will be closed from 6:30pm to 8:45pm.

Residents along the designated racing zones are encouraged to host yard event and invite over friends and neighbors to spectate the Boone Forest Rally. However spectators inside the racing zones will be locked in until after the race. Race marshals and emergency management volunteers will be stationed at each designated spectator area, which will be taped off for safety. The organizers of the race include The American Rally Association, Green APU, and Backroads of Appalachia. Over 100 volunteers will assist in road closures, marking off safe zones and race logistics. The race organizers express their gratitude to each county Emergency Management departments, local fire and rescue departments, and ambulance services for their assistance in all measures being taken for the event to keep all racers and spectators safe. Race routes were crafted by the experienced rally icons John Buffum and Mark Everett.
